Universal Orlando Resort is set to revolutionize its entertainment offerings with the grand opening of Epic Universe on May 22, 2025. This new theme park aims to change the landscape of family-friendly attractions and immersive experiences in Orlando. With a plethora of exciting features and attractions, Epic Universe promises to be a game-changer for the region, leveraging celebrated franchises and exclusive new content to draw in visitors from around the globe.
On October 22, 2023, the first wave of tickets and vacation packages for Epic Universe will go on sale. Universal has introduced a structured approach to ticket sales to accommodate the anticipated demand, ensuring a smooth experience for both guests and travel advisors. The multiday ticket offerings range from three to five days of admission to the parks, all including one day at Epic Universe. Guests will also have the flexibility to purchase additional tickets for Volcano Bay, positioning Universal as a versatile destination for families looking to maximize their entertainment options during their stay.
The pricing for these tickets spans from $352 to $521 per person for a three-day package, reflecting the peak timing of visits. Universal emphasizes that the comprehensive ticketing format is designed to facilitate a desirable experience amidst expected high demand, showcasing a strategic approach that balances affordability with the allure of its new attractions.
In addition to traditional ticket options, Universal will offer a “Create Your Own Vacation Package,” which allows guests to customize their experience further. This option enables families to save significant amounts—up to $200 on a seven-night stay—by bundling hotel accommodations with admission tickets. This initiative not only provides financial incentives but also streamlines the booking process for families, making planning simpler and more appealing as they get ready for their vacation.
Additionally, the introduction of the 2025 Unlimited Plus Ticket, which grants 14 days of access to Universal’s renowned parks, speaks to the strategic effort to encourage guests to extend their stays. This type of flexibility can enhance visitor enjoyment and satisfaction, ultimately benefitting Universal through longer visits and increased on-property spending.
As part of the Epic Universe expansion, the new Universal Helios Grand Hotel is set to welcome its first guests on May 22, coinciding with the park’s opening. This 500-room resort will feature exclusive park entrance options and scenic views, emphasizing Universal’s commitment to creating a comprehensive and immersive experience. Other themed hotels in the Epic Universe area—such as Stella Nova and Terra Luna—are also scheduled to open earlier, offering more conveniences for guests looking to stay close to the action.
Epic Universe is detailed with five distinct worlds, each designed to deliver a unique thematic experience. Planned areas include Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter with a Ministry of Magic theme, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon’s Isle of Berk, and the enigmatic Dark Universe. With over 50 distinct attractions, dining options, and experiences tailored to different interests, the park aims to offer something for everyone.
As Universal Orlando Resort embarks on this monumental expansion with Epic Universe, the initiative is more than just the addition of another park; it symbolizes a strategic vision to encourage extended stays and diversify the portfolio of experiences available. As Universal Orlando Resort President and COO Karen Irwin articulated, this new attraction is set to become a cornerstone for weeklong vacations in the area, providing endless entertainment opportunities.
With Epic Universe on the horizon, Universal Orlando Resort is poised to elevate its guest experience to unprecedented heights while reimagining family vacations. As the countdown begins for the grand opening, excitement continues to build around what promises to be an epic addition to Orlando’s theme park offerings.
