In a significant development for the budget hospitality sector, Indian hotel giant Oyo has opted to enhance its North American footprint through the acquisition of G6 Hospitality for $525 million. This all-cash transaction, announced on September 20, 2023, will see Oyo add a considerable number of properties to its portfolio, which includes well-known budget brands Motel 6 and Studio 6.
